Section One of the UNDP Evaluation Guidelines introduces the role of evaluation within UNDP, answering the following questions:

  • »  What principles, norms and standards guide evaluation within UNDP?
  • »  What is the structure and roles and responsibilities across UNDP for evaluation?

The section also gives an overview of the other sections of the evaluation guidelines and outlines how the evaluation function has evolved in recent years leading to the need for a revised set of evaluation guidelines.
