UNDP/CIPS Cooperation on Procurement Training and
Certification
UNDP procurement certification courses are accredited by the Chartered
Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) assuring compliance with high
international qualification standards as well as offering participants
access to a world-wide community of procurement professionals.
All UNDP/CIPS procurement certification course content at
Introductory (Level 2), Advanced (Level 3), and
Diploma (Level 4) levels is tailored to reflect common United
Nations and public procurement rules, policies, practises, and
procedures – hereby offering a unique qualification system customized to
UN and public procurement requirements.
In 2012 the “The Strategic Diploma in Public Procurement – CIPS
Accredited, Level 4” is introduced in the series of CIPS accredited
procurement certification courses. A prerequisite for participation at
Level 4 is completion of the “Introductory Certificate in Public
Procurement – Level 2” (offered in English and Spanish), and
“Advanced Certificate in Public
Procurement – Level 3”.

Participants, who complete and pass Level 4 (available from 2012), may
apply for accelerated entry to Level 5 “Advanced Diploma in
Purchasing and Supply” with CIPS.
All the certification courses are followed by two assessments (exams).
Assessments are optional for participants but yet a requirement to
achieve full CIPS accreditation.
All courses are open to staff from the UN system, international
development financing institutions and their borrowers, governments,
non-governmental organisations.
