Allan was covering a story on malaria nets distribution in western Kenya when he entered a local clinic and came across a nurse checking on a pregnant woman. “It was such a contrast from a regular ultrasound check-up,” he remembers. “I find I am interested in photographing people in their essence as they engage in activities to improve their everyday life.”
