André is a member of the Green Safe Association in Cameroon. The photo portrays community efforts to weed and prepare an abandoned and degraded plot of land for reforestation in Guidiguis, in northern Cameroon. Guidiguis’ Committee for the Protection of the Environment is made up exclusively of women, who are reforesting land that has lain fallow for a decade, using trees that have deep roots.
