7 April 2014: Chinese Farmers Planet a Chemical Free Future: In China, farmer Dang Jiuru talks about the difference a project working to phase out toxic DDT pesticide usage has made in his life. The project, in line with the Stockholm Convention, was jointly launched in 2009 by the UNDP, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture, with financing from the Global Environment Facility.
6 March 2014: Reinventing the Wheel: New Bike Routes Help Kazakhstan Go Green: The City of Almaty Sustainable Transport (CAST) project with financing from the Global Environment Facility is working with Dutch consulting and design firm Witteveen+Bos – experts in urban and bicycle planning – to pilot new bike routes in Almaty. This is part of UNDP’s larger work on sustainable transport in the region.
