6 March 2014: Reinventing the Wheel: New Bike Routes Help Kazakhstan Go Green: The City of Almaty Sustainable Transport (CAST) project with financing from the Global Environment Facility is working with Dutch consulting and design firm Witteveen+Bos – experts in urban and bicycle planning – to pilot new bike routes in Almaty. This is part of UNDP’s larger work on sustainable transport in the region.
13 February 2014: UNDP Chief Helen Clark on Illegal Wildlife Trade: "This vile trade is a development, environmental, and security challenge...At UNDP, we are committed to helping to stop this trade. UNDP’s work on wildlife protection has benefited enormously from funding through the Global Environment Facility – the GEF."
