Evaluation

Undertaking programme/project evaluations promotes accountability for the achievement of results, facilities learning, and can be used for decision making to improve performance. UNDP supported GEF financed programmes/projects follow both UNDP policies on evaluation as well as GEF policies on evaluation. Accordingly, these programmes/projects must undertake an independent evaluation at the end of the project (called a terminal evaluation) and are to be included in UNDP Country Office evaluation plans. The findings from these evaluations are reported to the UNDP Executive Board and the GEF Council.
