Evaluation of UNDP Support to Climate Change Adaptation

This evaluation assessed UNDP’s achievements and performance in helping partner countries to adapt to new climate conditions created by global warming. The evaluation is part of the IEO workplan (DP/2018/4) approved by the Executive Board in January 2018. The evaluation aims to strengthen UNDP accountability to global and national development partners, including the UNDP Executive Board, and to support organizational learning and improved development effectiveness. The evaluation took stock of UNDP’s climate change adaptation offer giving special attention to its support for countries that are especially vulnerable to climate shocks. Reflecting the prominence of small island developing states in this category, a specific chapter of the evaluation addresses UNDP’s climate change adaptation support for these countries.
