The main activity of the Evaluation Office is to conduct independent evaluations: thematic and programmatic evaluations. The Evaluation Office is responsible for the Annual Report on Evaluation, sets standards and guidelines on evaluation such as the Handbook on Planning, Monitoring and Evaluating on Development Results (2009), helps strengthen the evaluation culture, shares lessons for improved programming and actively participates in the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG).
