Welcome to UNDP in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)

The United Nations Development Programme is the UN’s global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build better lives. Its mission is to be an agent for change to promote human development and to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

UNDP is one of six resident UN agencies that make up the United Nations Country Team in the DPRK. We are committed to improving the quality of life of its people and supporting sustainable human development objectives. This could include addressing critical human needs such as food production, rural energy development and disaster preparedness. Concentrating our programmes in these areas will serve the humanitarian and development needs of the DPRK’s civilian population.
